A commedia all’italiana about male pride, jealousy and gender roles: Andrea Artusi (Ugo Tognazzi), a wealthy hatmaker in Brescia, is married to the young Maria Grazia (Claudia Cardinale). After an intimate meeting with the wife of a business friend, Andrea is overtaken by the idea that his wife could also cheat on him, turning him into a “cornuto” (cuckold), the worst possible disgrace in the patriarchal system.
